The Foundation

Aravind Foundation is a non profit making Registered Trust (Non-Governmental Organisation) launched on 29-12-2002.; founded and efficiently managed by the efficient trustees headed by Dr. V. Aravind.

Aravind Foundation is registered under the Indian Trust Act with the Regn.No 233/BK-4/2004 at the Registry at Vriddhachalam.

Registered under the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act 1976 under section 6 (1) (a) with the FCRA No-076010163.

Registered with the Indian Income Tax Department with the PAN No-AABTA3960A. The income of the Trust is exempted for income tax under sec.12AA and the donations to the trust are exempted under Sec.80G (5) & (vi) of the Indian Income Tax Act.

Giving People A Voice in Their Destiny. Every person will get everything. Needs of people in all their spheres of life and activity are fully met, sustainable comprehensive development and inclusive growth culminating in to a total change in the rural life to become a reality. Envisioning a world-not far in the future-where all the people have worked to free themselves from poverty and hunger, and are contributing to a healthy economy.

Mission

Aravind Foundation is dedicated to promoting a better understanding of how societies can pursue their economic and community goals in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner. Dedicated to positive transformation at the community level and promote social, economic, educational and cultural transformation through direct humanitarian action and all round sustainable development resulting in a total change.

Goals

Aravind Foundation pursues its mission through services, programmes, original research, conferences, policy work, curriculum development, publications, well fare projects, infrastructure creation, and other activities. To work with communities with a partnership for change, empowering individuals to achieve their full potential as well as building and strengthening community alliances, history and accomplishments to pursue useful technological innovations, which design and implementation reflect the skills and talent of the workforce,- meet all economic, social and environmental responsibilities,- maintain relations, based on ethical values and trust-based dialogue, with all partners which are key ideas that underpin the contribution to sustainable development embracing Rural Development, Rural Livelihood and total Rural Reconstruction fostering a Comprehensive Rural Development and Rural Upliftment caring for the planet and the fellowmen.

Aims and objectives

Aravind Foundation strives to achieve the objectives irrespective of Caste, Creed, Colour, Sex or Religion which includes but not limited to the following.

To promote and create awareness and to impart knowledge and educate about the welfare schemes of the Government and to ensure that the schemes reach the people.
To act as the bridge between the Government and the public.
To start and run education, Training and Service Institutions.
To pursue social works, works on Government schemes relating to any ministry or department of the Government.
To formulate own schemes for public welfare in all spheres.
To develop work on any new innovative scheme for public welfare.
To conduct research on welfare schemes of Government or on new innovative social ideology for comprehensive development in rural areas in the interest of larger social welfare.
To work for rural up-liftment and socio economic development of the society as a whole and rural folk in particular.
To promote village industries (small scale, large scale, or cottage industries) for providing employment to the people of rural areas.
To inculcate and develop small Non-Government organizations, self help groups at Village levels.
To introduce prizes, scholarships, awards and honours concerning the subject of socio economic development and social welfare in the society.

To publish books, magazine, news letters, bulletins for spreading the message regarding the aims, objectives and the work of the Trust.
To collaborate with any university, corporate body, individual, firm or any non profit organisation in India.
To create political awareness of the rights of people bestowed by the constitution of India.
To preach, propagate and nourish our Indian Culture and heritage and to engage in national integration activities.
To create awareness about the ills of population explosion and to educate the public to resolve such problems.
To fight for the cause of the people in any developmental activity.
To work for the rights of the oppressed, downtrodden and women in the society.
To inculcate value added politics among the public and preserve the ideals of the Constitution.
To take over or purchase other organizations or Trust to fulfill the above objectives.
To disseminate Knowledge.
